Day by Day

Easter – April 2021

Happy Easter all! This year it’s felt as if we have been rocketed through Holy Week with a turbo charged engine and landed abruptly onto Easter Sunday; far from the gentle and meditative journey I like to take. However, yesterday was special. Here’s how we spent our day…how did you spend yours?

We watched the sun rise, sang, prayed and read the remarkable story of the first Easter
Early morning mist
Birdsong
Followed by a hearty breakfast with friends sitting round a fire pit.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, the Easter table was set with chocolate!
Later on we tucked in…I love the chocolate hens!

HWH and the girls went to church, and we all had lunch sitting outside. I went to our Good Friday service. It felt such a privilege; I am reminded yet again of the high price many Christians around the world pay for their faith.

In our turbulent and ever shaking world, my one constant, my unshakeable rock is Jesus. I remember reciting the following, taken from the Nicene creed, as a young girl in our Anglican Church . Maybe it’s no wonder this statement has lasted through centuries.

He was…..crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end”

May we know joy in our days and peace in our hearts this week.

  1. Another piece from the C of E.

    Risen Christ,
faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:
teach us to hear your voice
    and to follow your command,
that all your people may be gathered into one flock,
to the glory of God the Father.
